Capturing the Heart of Industry: Partnering with Manufacturing Works
When first founding Perfect Moments and had the opportunity to expand on my passion for photography, my goal has always been to look past the surface and capture the true essence of a story. So when I had the chance to partner with Manufacturing Works, I leapt at teh chance to grow as a photographer and capture meaningful moments that tell the story not just of the businesses, but all that goes into our manufacturing sector in the state of Wyoming.
Over the last few months, I have gotten to be behind the lens working to build a comprehensive media and asset library for a project known as Manufacturing Works. What started as a project to take great pictures, quickly became an eye-opening journey into the heart of an industry that shapes our world everyday.
More Than Machinery: The People Behind the Process
Working with Manufacturing Works quickly taught me that it is easy to think of manufacturing in terms of cold steel, massive machinery, and automated assembly lines. But through the lens of a camera, you can see a completely different picture.
Manufacturing Works has been around for over two decades, supporting Wyoming manufacturers, and has been growing and expanding on what the sector is able to accomplish. The work they are doing is incredibly important, as they are doing much more than just creating a product. They are driving innovation, supporting livelihoods, and building the backbone of our community. I’ve been learning more everyday, and have been blown away by the passion, pricision, and the impact of Manufacturing Works, and the manufacturers across the state. The profound dedication to quality on a facility floor, paired with the inspiring narratives of the manufacturers themselves, provides an incredible foundation for building their visual asset library.
I often like to say that a portrait itself isn’t just a record of what someone looks like, or a simple image of a product or process. But rather, these images are a testament to what each manufacturer does everyday and why it really matters. As a photographer, my mission has been to translate the grit, hard work, and innovation into a more visual language. The asset library we have been working to develop is more than a collection of images for website. It is a living, breathing archive of the industry, its workers, machinery, the stories, and the breathing representation of a company’s identity.
My heart has always lied with porptraiture, in capturing people, and I have had such a wonderful opportunity to expand greatly on what I can offer, my skillset, while getting to really explore what photography means to myself, and the many communities we all serve. I have aimed to cpature the “perfect moments” that define Manufacturing Works, images that can fuel marketing, but more importantly, they honor the people who make Wyoming’s manufacturing industry what it is.
